TRUCK DRIVER’S DAY TAKES A PLUNGE—QUITE LITERALLY

By: Weazel News Staff Reporter

Location: Los Santos – A routine start to the day for one truck driver turned into an aquatic adventure when their semi-truck took an unexpected detour—right into the water, just feet away from the truck yard.

Witnesses at the Post Op Freight Yard, where the incident occurred, say the driver appeared calm as they prepared to embark on their route. The truck had barely moved a few feet when a sudden turn of events sent it careening through the yard and over an embankment, splashing down into the nearby Murrieta Oil Field Canal.

“I thought I was dreaming,” said fellow driver Barry Tibbs, who was sipping coffee in his cab at the time. “One second they’re backing up to align the trailer, the next they’re taking a dive into the drink!”

Authorities speculate that the incident was caused by a mechanical failure—possibly a stuck accelerator or faulty brakes. However, some witnesses allege the driver may have inadvertently hit the wrong pedal in a moment of distraction.

“The yard’s always tight, and nerves play a role,” said Danica Brookes, a yard supervisor. “But you don’t expect to see someone turn their rig into a boat before they even leave the premises!”

Fortunately, the driver, who has not been named, escaped the incident unharmed. Emergency crews quickly arrived on the scene to assess the situation. After ensuring the driver’s safety, the submerged truck became the center of a complex recovery operation involving a crane and specialized tow equipment.

“It’s going to take hours to fish this thing out,” commented LSFD Deputy Chief Eric Sanchez, who was overseeing the rescue efforts. “At least the driver’s okay—that’s what matters most.”

The mishap has sparked a mix of humor and disbelief among locals. Memes and hashtags like # TruckTsunami and #DiveDriver have already begun circulating on social media.

Weazel News attempted to reach out to the trucking company for comment, but representatives declined to issue a statement pending an internal investigation.

As for the driver, sources close to the scene say they’re unlikely to forget this watery detour anytime soon.
